How to maintain your will to win

Will: the power of making a choice or decision. Attitude, enthusiasm and energy.

That’s how the Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines it. From time to time ask yourself: do you have the will to win?

Maybe it’s a project in your company that you’re after, or a small business idea you’re considering. Maybe it’s a larger idea to lead a community project or take on a city or even state-level position.

Your employment or vocation doesn’t matter. We all face the same question: do we have the passion and the desire to win?

Maybe along the way you have lost some fire, someone has discouraged you or said something that set you back emotionally. If so, take that setback and ponder it for a few minutes or, for some, a few days and then move on.

And remember three things:

  1. Don’t let others comments pull you down.
  2. Your desire to accomplish something is the one thing to keep you going. If you lose that fire you will begin to doubt your dream, get apathetic and give up.
  3. Do not let that happen. Every goal has a period of quiet, uneventful times. The hard work behind the scenes is the one thing many people never see or understand.

Believe, work hard, rest and keep your fire burning.

Inspire me: “ Set short term goals and you will win games, set long term goals and you will win championships!”
